This is an ongoing series I'm working on, exploring the relationship between space-time and the concept of walking.
The distance between my apartment and the metro station is 1km, which is 2160 steps, 10 minutes walk. I walk this distance every day on my way home from work, thinking and being present.
These frottages are made by rubbing chalk over various surfaces I observed during my daily walks, serve as a physical imprint of specific times and places.
I create a kilometre-long image by making prints of the ground, stopping at every step of my route. Then I took these images and used them as frames for an animation, which runs for 90 seconds, reducing the 10-minute journey in reality to ten times less in the medium of animation.
